To do this the exercises were conceived to <strong>uniformly develop the body by strengthening it from the center.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Pilates isn't just about \"working out\" it is about <strong>learning to be at home and connected with one's own body in order to have the energy and health<\/strong> to enjoy life and meet all of its demands each and every day.<\/p>\n<p>By coordinating breathing with the execution of precise movements the entire body works together <strong>to tone and strengthen<\/strong>. The act of rolling and un-rolling the spine articulating each and every vertebra is an action unique to the Pilates method. He was a small and sickly child who was often teased. As he grew older he took it upon himself to become strong and healthy. He was a gymnast, a boxer, and a diver. He observed the movement of animals in nature and devoured anatomy manuals.<\/p>\n<p>Before World War I he spent time in England and ended up interned on the Isle of Man upon outbreak of the war. During the worldwide influenza outbreak he and all those interned with him survived and remained healthy thanks to his teaching of his exercise method. It was here that the basis of his method, Contrology, was developed and that Pilates began using springs (removed from beds!) as \"extra muscles\" to help bed-ridden patients exercise.<\/p>\n<p>Pilates est retourn\u00e9 en Allemagne apr\u00e8s la guerre et a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper sa m\u00e9thode en formant la police de Hambourg \u00e0 l&#8217;auto-defense et en travaillant avec des patients atteints de rhumatismes. Son travail avec Pilates au cours de leur voyage l&#8217;aura gu\u00e9rie de ses douleurs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 New York Pilates ouvre sa \u00ab salle de sport \u00bb.c&#8217;est l\u00e0 qu&#8217;il d\u00e9veloppe plus avant sa m\u00e9thode et l&#8217;enseigne, avec l&#8217;aide de Clara, \u00e0 ceux qui viennent \u00e0 dans son studio. Pilates noue rapidement une relation avec la communaut\u00e9 de la danse en r\u00e9\u00e9duquant des danseurs bless\u00e9s \u00e0 un moment o\u00f9 la kin\u00e9sith\u00e9rapie n&#8217;existe pas encore. La Contr\u00f4logie en vient \u00e0 \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e par les compagnies de danse en compl\u00e9ment de la formation et l&#8217;est encore aujourd&#8217;hui. Le Pilates est \u00e9galement largement utilis\u00e9 par les kin\u00e9sith\u00e9rapeutes aux \u00c9tats-Unis et au Royaume-Uni en particulier.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph et Clara ont form\u00e9 les nombreux clients qui sont pass\u00e9s par leur studio. Une poign\u00e9e d&#8217;entre eux a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 enseigner la m\u00e9thode de Pilates. Ce groupe de personnes, d\u00e9sign\u00e9s sous le nom des \u00abA\u00een\u00e9s\u00bb sont cr\u00e9dit\u00e9s de diffusion de la m\u00e9thode \u00e0 travers le monde.
